Re: Short content DVD won't play

"Probably" the reason nero doesn't have the problem is the same as for ImgBurn: it automatically pads the total size. I never remember to pad tiny disks anymore, because I have become dependent on the autopad!

Edit: I see John's second past! That's the other imgburn advantage here: let it figure out the addition!

Yeah, one image probably won't cut it.  Maybe I'll create a folder filled with a pile of our Corporate Beauty shots, and just keep that on my desktop for filling purposes.  Or, maybe I'll try ImgBurn too.  Good tips.

What version of ame/encore?

What is the framerate, and what is the field status? That is often what "jumping" relates to.

Thanks for your reply! Its adobe cs6, frame rate is 25fps. How do I check the field status? :/

The field order in Premiere Pro is set to automatic (based on source) so it automatically recognised it as Progressive. Is this the info you needed? :/

"Orphan Timeline" & "End Action Not Set." What does this mean????

I am setting up a Blu-Ray DVD in Encore. I have a project on a Premiere Pro CS 5.5 Timeline, which is 2 and a half hours long with 24 Encore chapters in it. I have not yet Encoded it in Media Encoder as of yet.

I am setting up all my menus and buttons in Encore so all I have to do is link the buttons to them main project when I do encode it and then I can just Check it and Burn it.

I did check my project just now though and all buttons came up with 2 Errors:

1) Orphan Timeline

2) End action not set.

1) "Orphan Timeline", I assume that means that the button is not linked to any timeline as of yet, correct? (This would be true because there is no main project timeline in there yet.)

2) "End action not set." What does this mean? Will this go away once I add my whole project into Encore and I link up all of the buttons to the timeline?

Thanks in advance

Slow BR build with previously transcoded media (CS6 Mac)

Very simple BR: 1 menu with 1 button and 1 timeline. All media was transoded using AME.

Build starts at what seems to be a normal pace, then during the "Building Movies" stage it slows down to a crawl with 24 seconds left. Screenshot attached

Screen Shot 2013-04-11 at 4.32.08 PM.JPG

Some THINGS:

1) Encore still seems to be working, at least it's churning away on one of my Mac Pro cores in Activity Monitor

2) It appears to be working on the file BDMV/DB/BDMV/STREAM/00001.m2ts as that file is slowly growing larger

3) The movie in the timeline is 4.1 GB, and there already is BDMV/DB/BDMV/STREAM/00003.m2ts which is 4.1 GB.

4) In the build progress, it already previously built a 4.1 GB movie

5) I think it is building the timeline a second time, this time transcoding the already transcoded file

Any thoughts on this nonsense?

Post a screen shot of the Project panel.

Orphan Timeline means there's no way for the end user to get to that timeline and watch it.

End Action is what happens at the end of a timeline.

There is a minimum size for 'legal' DVDs.  If the program material is less than 1GB on disk, the authoring program should be filling in the rest with 0's.  Encore used to do that as part of the Lead Out.

1) Orphan Timeline

2) End action not set.

Both of these suggest that you created a timeline in the Encore project, perhaps with no "asset" in it.

Yes, ignore both messages for now. But I prefer creating the timeline after, or along with, importing the asset into the Encore project.

If you believe you have not created a timeline, post a screenshot of your "flowchart."

Thanks for the prompt reply. FWIW, I left a build running when I went out for a movie, and it was still going when I retunred home from dinner, and 00001.m2ts was over 10 GB. Project and Flowchart tabs are attached

Slideshow Decoder issue

0
0

I've seen a few people having this problem but haven't seen a solution that works. Spece/tech details are...

Windows 8 Pro 64Bit

32Gb Ram

1TB+ free space

Intel I7 3820CPU

Nvidia GTX 560Ti GPU

Master Suite CS6

All Software/OS updates applied.

I am trying to make a DVD slideshow.  I used the Photoshop actions to resize save as TIFF's all images as well using the actions to remove the flicker.

When I try to use the "Import As/Slideshow" fucntion in Encore I get the attached dialog box.  I have created a standard  Encore  project using only default settings.  I have re-run all alctions and created new Encore projects, same result every time.

encore error.jpg

I have installed quicktime/VLC/Codec Pak to ensure the the H 264 codec is installed and working, it is.

I stall get this problem, and Encore refuses to import any of my files.

Any help would be great.

OK, solved.  When you use the Photoshop actions to prep your  TIFF's in readines for importing into Encore, the actions won't save your files as 8 bit TIFF's which is what Encore wants.  If you start with 16 bit TIFF's, you'll be left with 16 bit TIFF's and Encore will spit them back at you without any useable explanation.  The work around for this was to save my TIFF's as 8 bit first, then process as them as needed.

Just to update the issue, (dissapointedly without any help or caring from this forum), it seems the problem was something I was doing in Adobe Encore as when I added the project to DVD Studio Pro it worked fine. But thanks for all your help...

I have attempted to render this project out 5 times now. See attached screen shots. The transcoding just stops at the same point every time. I've left it for over 24 hours a few times and still cannot complete the transcode. I have even attempted to transcode directly to disc, transcode now using AME and no luck. I even removed some neat video noise reduction filters that I had on several clips which increased render times by about 8 hours and 3rd party transitions from the timeline and still no luck. I also eliminated the gaps at the end of the timeline in my sequence. I noticed a few other post with similar issues but it doesn't look like the issue was addressed. I just returned from NAB from which I received some scripts from one of the Adobe techs to clean out any possibly corrupt files and still cannot complete this project. I am going insane!!! It's 2:46 AM I need sleep. Please help!

It's less than 24 hours since your first post.  A bit impatient, don't you think?

Lower, upper or progressive?

Hello guys!

I have a question about fields when I want to create a dvd (region: Greece)

When  I create a new project on Adobe Encore and select dvd option, it don't  let me change the field order. Only LOWER. I read in forum that dvd can  play lower, upper or progressive fields. So, despite encore's standards,  I imported footages (I exported them on AME) with diferrent field  orders. They all have "Don't transcode". I'm confused. :s

No not at all, it requires alot of patience to be an editor. Just was under pressure and a deadline.
