The Lounge Forum is not for technical help, please provide the name of the program you are using so your message may be moved to the correct program forum... A program would be Premiere Elements or Encore or ???

There can be many reasons. DVD is standard definition, not high definition. What is your source material?

Please post a screenshot of the Encore project panel.

If you are exporting from Premiere Pro or similar program, please post a screenshot of your export settings.

Encore Not Burning DVD

Over a dozen attempts to burn DVDs in Encore 5.5 and failing, often with Sense Code 52102 indicating that the problem was with my hardware and finding the hardware burned DVDs in another application, I found a solution that is working every time, thanks in part to various bit of advice in this forum: I create in Encore 5.5, importing Premiere Pro sequences as timelines and Photoshop for Menus --  and then instead of burning DVD, I build an image file (maybe also called an ISO). I then use a free program AShampoo Burning Studio to burn the DVD from the image (being cautious I slow down to 4x rate, but I'm not sure that's necessary). And voila! Burning happily away.

Why is Encore not included with Premier Pro CC as advised previously?

I have purchased versions of Creative Suite CS6 and the popular plan for CC 2017.  I was advised that Encore would be included with Premier Pro CC when purchased.  Information I can find reveals that I need to use Encore CS6.

Is this my only option to create DVDs or Blu-ray?

Encore is a tool to author dvds and BDs.

In order to get Encore you need to install Premiere CS6 from the CC app.

Export from Premiere 2017 with mpeg2-dvd or H.264 bluray preset.

Load files in Encore, make menu and burn.

Create an Image File(iso) in Encore.  Use ImgBurn to burn your DVD or Blu-ray discs.  Trying to burn your discs in Encore is not usually very successfull.

I have replied to this single input that should also include the previous from Ann Bens and Michael Stehly.

I had included in my question that I already purchased Creative Suite CS6.  This includes Encore CS6 in addition to other CS6 apps including Premier Pro CS6. Using Encore CS6, I have successfully created menus with DVDs from videos using a Panasonic PV-DV952 digital tape camcorder.

Ann had suggested I use Cineon for Pro Res editing Exports for Sony 60 fps HD AVCHD video to maintain resolution.  As I have found this appears to be similar to an Adobe MXF file.  In the final Export, I will use either mpeg2-dvd or H.264 bluray preset for DVD or Blu-ray.

Michael has useful information to create an Image File(iso) in Encore for use with ImgBurn to burn DVD or Blu-ray discs if Encore burns create problems.  Presumably ImgBurn comes at extra cost.

I now find that CC 2017 has been upgraded to simply CC in the latest updates.  It is a pity Encore was not updated into CC.

I have another problem.

I have a Blue Ray disc that will play on a Sony BD-R player to a Sony Bravia Monitor but, I cannot open the disc on the computer for the recovery of photos and video data.

How do I play the disc on the computer ?

It was authored in Encore back in 2008 from a Premiere Pro Project .

Parts of Encore were licensed from another company, which was bought and "killed" by yet another company... Adobe seems to have decided not to try and write a completely new version of Encore

When/where did I advice this?

I apologise for my mistake.  You advised I use Cineform.  I have confused this with Cineon from an alternate source.

How to select audio and subs w/o starting the timeline?

Hey, there. I'm new at the forum and I'm so sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

So, I'm using Encore to author a Blu-Ray and I've created everything fine. All the menu pages are working well and I created different pages for audio selection and subtitle selection, both showing as default button the active tracks. However, when you click the option, the target timeline starts playing. Is there a way I can make the player learn the selection without starting automatic playback? I want the selected audio and subtitles to be active, but I also want to stay at the menu.

Thanks for your time.

(EDIT: Typo fixes)

You don't link to the timeline, but back to the menu button. Use the specify link option.
