Thank you for the offer. I figured it out. Actually, I just deleted the Photoshop file and re-created it from scratch. The problem resolved itself.

Thank you all for your time on this.

Actually, it seems I did not figure it out. The single line is gone, but the (=1) highlight is offset. See the picture. In the Photoshop layer, they yellow is dead-on over the white. This happens on each and every highlight and on on each and every one of the six menus that this dvd has. I I only realized this after I burned a dvd and put it in my player.

I will pm you one psd of the main menu.

Encore may or may not be forgiving with HD menus in a DVD. You are making a DVD, right?

As a test, make a DVD sized menu and add one button.

I'll look at this further later tonight or tomorrow.

Is that possible to make a submenu layer at the original menu page?

I am using Encore cs6 & Photoshop cc to create a DVD menu. I want to do a submenu for each title like below, but my only solution is to make tons of pages for every title. Is there a quicker way to show the submenu block after I click one of my buttons?

I don't think it is offset. In preview, the highlight does not follow the 8bit limit and gives an exact shape; once built, it no longer follows the exact shape (think antialiasing type issues). I don't have the font, so can't play with that. It is possible that a slight change in font size could improve it, but the angles in the corners may be a problem. You can't put the text on top of the highlight, because it is white inside.

I am not fond of changing the text color as a highlight, so I would just use your other highlights.

I also don't think that in this case it is a problem with using an HD size menu. That seems to be working okay.

How to sync subtitle timeline with video timeline?

The original subtitle file are .srt, i am using subtitle edit to convert them to adobe ntsc .txt for import into encore.  But they are not synced properly.  How do I sync these?  When I originally import the subtitle file into encore it has an exclamation point on the timeline, i right click that and get and option to "fix the gaps" which I do but the sync is still off.

Is it framerate?  the original video is 30fps, subtitle edit tells me the default fps for the subtitle files is 23.975 and the output files from encore are 29.975 for DVD and 59.975 for Blu-ray.

Thank you.

DVD Exceeds Bitrate

Hi, I've been burning DVDs at 24 fps. I just rendered a project at 29 fps and got this msg when i tried to burn the DVD in Encore. My export settings in Premiere didn't change at all and I'm wondering how I can burn a DVD. Also I tried lowering the max bitrate to 8 and still got this msg. Then I lowered the max bitrate to 7 and it worked, but of course it looks like garbage. Would love some help! Thanks.Screen Shot 2018-01-04 at 11.54.04 AM.pngScreen Shot 2018-01-04 at 12.02.32 PM.png

Are you always keeping the audio as pcm?

What is your Encore project max bitrate?

I agree this should have worked.

I'd suggest dropping the PCM (uncompressed) audio. Dolby is good enough for Hollywood DVDs, should be good enough for a wedding ;-)

Then also drop that bitrate. Just do CBR 8.0 if total length is under an hour.

Thanks

Encore Closed Captioning

Hello,

I am having issues with the Closed Captioning on PC.

I have burned out a disc with closed captions using .scc files through Encore. The closed captioning plays fine when I try on on Mac computers through DVD software, but when I play the disc on a PC with Windows Media Player, it only shows half of the CC. The CC starts and stops at certain times, leaving parts where no CC will display.

I am curious if this is something I can fix through Encore or if this is strictly a Mac/PC thing. We need to burn hundreds of this DVD for educational camps across the country and need every DVD to be as compatible with whatever our instructors have available at schools to show the DVDs. Any help on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ben

Also, what are the results when played on a DVD player hooked to a TV? This will help to clarify what sort of problem you have.

Software emulators of DVDs, what you have on either Mac or PC, can vary a lot. Some PC emulators may work in others not, same for Mac although they are more likely to be using the same program.

Re: Encore turning my 16:9 into 4:3

You must use the *NTSC DV Widescreen* format at the time of saving the video. Do not worry about the distortion, it'llbe corrected when the video is rendered and Encore will not have a problem turning the 16: 9 into 4: 3 again.

I had also the same problem with Adobe Encore CS6. Then I by accident opened Encore "As Administrator". Then the Encore opens normally without error messages.

Can somebody say, how Encore works also with User?

OS: Win 10 Pro, 16 GB memory, 6 TB disk space. All updates up to date.

Norton Internet security.

Thanks :-)

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Running Encore under a user account works, but run it "as administrator" even though the user has administrative rights. You can set it to always run that way.

Ok I'll try the audio first and then CBR 8.0. My max bitrate was 9. Thanks for the replies, I'll keep ya posted

Hi,

In my computer, that I edit videos, there is this problem. E.g. my laptop works OK.

I am administrator in my home computer system. When I click Encore open, it crashes. Then I noticed right-click Encore “Open as Administrator”. It works. There are no more problems left. Still I liked to open Encore in the normal way.
