Sorry but in he flowchart we can see miniatures of my family so I don't want to publish personal information.

Is something visibly wrong in the menu? An idea why Blu-Ray players have a different behaviour of Adobe Encore preview?

No, I have written directly on timeline.

To use the fix in the links, you must export, then reimport the subtitles.

I SOLVED THE ERROR CODE 3!!!

HOLY COW, I finally discovered the answer for the Error Code 3, guys!  At least for my type of Error Code 3, where it could not open a particular file when trying to burn a blu-ray (either disc or image).

In searching for an answer, I just happened to stumble upon the Wikipedia article for Encore, which says that AVCHD 2.0 files are not compatible for burning to blu-ray disc in Encore.  So I decided to go back into Premiere and re-export the timeline to MPEG-2 Blu-Ray, bring those files (m2v and wav) into Encore, and voila - it wrote the ISO, no problem!

I mean, kinda sucks that you can't get the good H.264 codec onto your blu-rays, but that's the trade-off apparently.

The Encore CS6 I have is dated 9-18-2012 so having a problem with a newer codec doesn't surprise me

As of CS5, Encore could pass through Blu-ray compliant AVCHD files (MTS, M2TS).

See help:

Build a finished project in Adobe Encore CS5, CS6

But that does not mean that you can't add Blu-ray compliant H.264 exported from PR - .m4v.

Yes, using MPEG2 Blu-ray export from PR is a workaround for problems with H.264; and vice versa.

I have been using frameserving to TempgEnc since 2011 and it still works in Pr2018.

Issue #4 is that Encore has NOTHING to do with the quality anyway - if you export a proper "DVD-legal" MPEG-2 file from Premiere/Media Encoder, then Encore will use that .m2v source "as is" and not do anything to it - no transcoding - thus Encore would not be affecting the video quality in any way, shape or form.

Jumping in late here to emphasize a point: as indicated above, you do NOT want Encore to transcode the footage (because it does a terrible job), but you may have to double-check settings to make sure it does not. Jeff suggests it happens automatically but, in my experience, that's not always the case.

After you import your "DVD-legal" MPEG-2 file*, right-click DVD Transcode in Project window, select Locate Transcoded File, then select the original m2v file.

As for what exactly qualifies as "DVD-legal", the easiest way is to choose one of the presets in Premiere. If you want to tweak those settings, check the links above to confirm you remain within accepted parameters.

My Canon still/video camera records 1280x720 30 frames per second... which is the setting I use to edit in PPro

I export widescreen 720x480 to make a DVD (I don't have a Blu-Ray writer)

What I create is not "quite" as good as a commercial DVD, but it is still better than a VHS tape

So, for my family movies, I'm happy with the result

I've tried to make a DVD, it keeps playing on the TV pixilated. It plays fine on my Mac

I edited a highlight video in Premiere Pro CC 2018. It plays fine on my Mac Book Pro. When I author is on Encore CS6 it plays pixilated. I changed the settings about 5 times and it still did not come out right. I tried exporting it in Media Encoder, still comes out pixilated.

Export from PPro using the MPEG2-DVD preset and import the two files (audio and video) in Encore

As long as Encore shows "do not transcode" your video/audio are at a legal setting to make a DVD

Do note that you will NOT get high definition, since a DVD is standard

What format/pixel size file are you playing on the Mac? As John says, DVD is SD, and will not look as good as a higher definition file.

Many users are playing HD mp4 files back on their HD TVs.

Encore Blu-ray disc Build problems

When I attempted to build a blu-ray disc image in encore cs6, the software stopped responding.

So in case anyone is having this or other trouble building a Blu-ray disc with encore in 2018, as I have... the solution might be the following:

1. Let Encore do all the transcoding (I guess cc2018 encoder and premiere codecs are too updated to be properly use by encore cs6)

2. Use photoshop 2015 to create the menus.

This worked for me, hope it works for everybody.

Hi,

thank you for your advice. I tried that preset, but there is image quality loss, because the files are 1920 x 1080 and it export it as 720 x 480. The loss of quality is significant though, but it's not pixilated.

DVD NTSC is 720x480. To keep the HD resolution, make a Blu-ray.

30 minute source down to 20? What is the total minutes of video on the DVD? You can improve the bitrate. That will help the quality.
