In the creative cloud app, you have the option to download and install previous versions of premiere. 2017 seems to work with encore cs6...the problem is your premiere project wont be backward compatible with premiere pro 2017...sigh

I did find a possible work-around on youtube, but didnt try it. I delivered two weddings via USB, and have switched to premiere 2017 for the current edit. It is totally annoying!

I ended up searching for an alternative software for burning discs.  I tried Magix DVD Architect and found it to not be very intuitive to me, and it also focuses on DVD - it works with Blu-ray as more of an option or afterthought.  The one I went with is Ashampoo Burning Studio 2018.  For some reason, it is free right now (8/30/18) - the full version.  I found it to be simple and intuitive to use.  There are other free versions and retail versions on their website as well.  I still have to use Encore to author a disc and create the ISO/disc image.  It worked though on the first try - my chapter markers were there and everything.  It's just annoying to be using 4 pieces of software to get a simple disc done (PP CC, Media Encoder, Encore, Ashampoo).  I would have thought that Adobe would have come up with a pro level replacement for Encore.

Atempaj, please check the installation logs to see if there are any errors that are preventing Encore from licensing properly.  Information on how to locate the installation log can be found at Troubleshoot install issues with log files in Adobe Creative Suite (CS6, CS5.5, CS5), PS Elements, and Premiere Elements .  I would recommend focusing on the PDAapp.log.

Thanks, Atempaj, but this is a warning.  Please use the Find command to look for Errors within the log.  Every log file referenced in Troubleshoot install issues with log files in Adobe Creative Suite (CS6, CS5.5, CS5), PS Elements, and Premiere Elements is appended to during each installation.  The most recent errors will be at the end of the file.  If you don't see any errors in the PDApp log then please check the other log files referenced.

Excellent, Atempaj, the Error DF037 indicates an inability to delete or update the required directories.  There are multiple permission failures listed within the log file.  Please use the steps listed in Error exit code 6, exit code 7 installing Adobe Creative Cloud to update the file permissions.

Error DF031 indicates that the existing files are unable to be read or that the file does not exist.  Similar to the DF037 please attempt to adjust the file permissions to each location listed with Error DF031.

Wow...that's interesting. And still, very strange. I can't believe the company didn't want to continue. I guess I really need to stress to everyone who wants a disk of any kind, that disks are no longer a viable option

As it said in the message I mentioned, Adobe could not, legally, use the "core" they had been using, and, as also mentioned, reverse engineering that "core" was also not legal

It does seem that Adobe did not wish to put the time/money into hiring new programmers who were not "tainted" by ever having worked with the "core" modules that were no longer legal, to be able to write an entirely new program

Atempaj, the DF012 indicates a failure to read the necessary installation files.  You can find more details on this error at Installation and launch log errors | Adobe Creative Suite 6, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5, Adobe Creative Suite 5 .   You are installing Encore CS6 through the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app using the steps listed in How to download and install Adobe Encore CS6, Atempaj?

If so, then please begin the installation in a newly created local administrator account.  Steps on how to set up a new account can be found at Adobe troubleshooting: Creating an admin account in Windows . 

The current User account has already encountered several file permissions errors that you have manually corrected, Atempaj.  The newly created local Administrator account should have default permissions so you should not continue to receive these type of failures.

Please update this discussion with the results, Atempaj.  There are additional steps that we can implement, but I am hopeful the newly created local administrator account will alleviate the current errors you are facing.

New administrator didn't resolve the issue. I tried it on both my MacBook Pro and my Mac Pro... Going to try a windows laptop next. But that you very much for the suggestion! I was hopeful that would be it...

Thank you!, yes I did that to create new administrator on both my macs...still a no go. Maybe it's a high sierra thing? Trying it now on a windows machine.

I do know that "regular" CS6 (and earlier) with serial numbers require a special step to install, but since I'm on Windows I have NO idea what happens when you try installing through a subscription

For the serial number version...

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan or later operating systems

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or Sierra

--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility
