Re: "device not ready", Code; "3" Note; "File can not open" I'm considering giving up on encore and life itself.

Encore Menu Highlight Drop Shadows

Hi All,

I'm trying to make a menu where the text for play, setup etc has a drop shadow when it is highlighted, instead of it turning a different color or having a arrow next to it. I've seen this on commercial blu rays and it looks pretty cool.

Is encore capable of doing this for blu rays? I've been doing some research and I can see plenty of posts where people are saying it cannot be done for DVDs but I'm not sure about blu rays? I've tried to do it and it looks fine in photoshop but in encore when selected all that is visible is the drop shadow, instead of the text with a drop shadow under it. It's as if the drop show is being shown over the top of the text.

I can post my PSD file but first of all wanted to check if it's actually possible?

This is the sort of thing I mean:

Play Movie selected:

Chapters selected:

Thanks

thank you Ann. I did too. I suggest others do if they have the time.

So there is no option for 5.1 audio with the mov-cineform export so I am now doing this

exporting a 5.1 h264 mp4 file at 25mbps (the same rate that I set my encore bluray project to)

also exporting a 5.1 h264 at 14mbps for my USB delivery

Then importing the 25mbps mp4 into premiere cc 2017 and exporting it using my h264-bluray preset.

It's a real shame we have to take additional lengthy steps and I really hope adobe fix this asap.

Commercial BDs have options you don't have in Encore.

I don't recall if this works.

First, do you have "Export Highlights in Rich Color" selected in the menu properties?

The Output on my picture shows 1280x720.  I had changed it to 1920x1080 when I encoded the video.  Also, the Video Dimensions were changed to 1920x1080.

I doubt that Adobe will fix the problem.  Encore CS6 is no longer supported.

The problem is not Encore but Premiere generation incompatible files.

I still doubt that Adobe will fix the problem.

I hope that Adobe fixes it.  I have been using Encore since CS3.

Thank you! That is exactly the problem. I accidentally moved the video on the timeline to the right, which left about a one-second gap in the beginning. Once I moved the timeline to the left, and there was no gap, it fixed the error!

Adobe, stupid error message had nothing to do with the issue! Please update Adobe Encore CS6, it is so 1990's!

has anyone tried to import an m4v created using the h264-bluray preset back into premiere cc 2018? I have tried using the one I created in cc2018 and cc2017 and both of them crash premiere.

Is this just my system?

I am able to import m4v and load them in premiere.  The only problem that I have so far is the incompatibility from h.264 bluRay files generated from cc 2018 not being able load and failing with "device not ready" error.

Hi Stan,

Sorry for the delay in replying, I tried the 'export highlights in rich color' option and it didn't seem to have much effect, however I think since then I have figured it out.

First I wrote the button with the text tool, then I copied that to a new layer and added a drop shadow. Then I selected layer, layer styles and create layer, which put the text and drop shadow on two separate layers. I deleted the text and then I had two layers, the original one with the text and one with just the drop shadow.

Then in encore I played around with the colour set and reduced the opacity. Now it seems to work and looks pretty good.

Thanks

Great. If the 2 layers are in the button group together and coded as highlights, them all the highlight issues apply. If the drop shadow is a non-highlight layer, then no problem.

Blu Ray Transcode Pending 100% - m4v / h264 blu ray

I've seen a similar post but the question remains unanswered.

I exported my PP CC 2018 sequence as h264 blu ray. I've imported the .m4v video and wav files into encore. When I click "Build Project" it states the blu ray transcode is pending.

Why would it have to transcode from a h264 blu ray .m4v file? Isn't it already transcoded?

There is a stream error message

Our users all have Acrobat Standard DC and Reader DC. When they scan a document and send it to themselves, they can open the PDF and view it just fine.

I downloaded the file to desktop, and tried to open it using Acrobat Reader DC, and received the  error like "There was an error reading the stream".The error is with Acrobat Reader itself, as I am able to open the same with other readers .Is there any solution /work around this?

Just seen this thread about Encore 6. I have the exact same problem as Gazman2013 who posted the original issue.

Same file type fails on build .

I tried building a disc image but that failed too ! - so question is ....did you have to do this with older H264 media encoder files ?.

Quite frankly, now subscribed to Creative Suite and I too find it totally unacceptable that the production of BluRay discs is now forgotten by Adobe.

Yes - we would all like to give friends a Straeming Server address but we don't al have fact video streaming server pockets - so a BluRay disc for friends is still convenient.

Please Adobe - get this Encore problem  sorted out on Windows 10 - mmmhhh I bet that fell on deaf ears

You're in the Encore (DVD authoring) forum. Not sure which forum option you should pick.

We believe there is an error and a bug report has been filed. An earlier version (PR CC 2017) is one workaround. Or export a lossless intermediate and let Encore transcode. Not the best, but some users find the quality ok.

I think you can also use MEPG2 Blu-ray.
