Re: Getting PProCC2019 Captions into Encore??

Stan,

Sorry for the delay...

The caption track I'm using is "Open Captions", I'm not so far along that I cannot create another style/format of caption/subtitle track.

Your link to the CS5.5 Encore Help file doesn't work (or didn't for me in Edge), which makes your subsequent comments confusing.  Especially since NONE of the available Caption tracks in PProCC2019 export to the .scc format.

Anyway, I hope that this answer is sufficient to allow you to "...take it from there."!

Thanks in advance!

The link is to a page of Encore pdf help files. Download CS6. (I assume that is what you are using.)

The page numbers are a bit off.  Just search "closed captions."

You cannot export an .scc file from PR based on Open Captions. Right click on the caption stream Modify -> Captions, change to CC 608, Field 1. I cannot guarantee that the file will work. The one .scc I found quickly that I exported from PR recently worked.

Note that Encore only supports closed captions for DVD.

In the project panel using Export -> Captions or from the timeline using File -> Export -> Media and setting caption tab to sidecar .scc, export.

In Encore, you select the video track properties panel, closed captions, and browse for the file. Only field 1 enabled, you cannot see or preview the captions.

I tested in PowerDVD and they worked.

Encore Link To Photoshop Does Not Work

Ref: Encore CS6 "photoshop does not appear to be installed"

I hate to revive an old thread, but the above 'fix' didn't work for me. I am not able to open a menu in Photoshop from within Encore. Says PS does not appear to be installed. All of my apps are updated to 2219 version and I am in Windows 10 Pro version 1803. I went into the Sources Menus folder and was able to open the PSD files with Photoshop. I checked the box to always open PSDs with PS, but it still does not work from Encore. I have re-started Encore and Photoshop to no avail.

My fully updated Encore CS6 is dated 9-18-2012

I will GUESS that it will not work with your latest version of Photoshop

Thank you, sir!  I will try out your suggestions on Monday and either mark it as the correct answer or tell you of my results and further questions.

Have a great weekend!

How did you install Encore? I assume from the CC desktop by installing PR CS6?

Works for me. With no special adjustments, I right click a menu in Encore, pick "Edit in Photoshop," and (this being the first time since I installed Encore this round), I get the prompt to pick the program to open psd. I pick PS 2019 and check the "always use" box. Close, repeat, opens without prompting in PS 2019.

But, as I noted in the thread you linked to, sometimes the solution did not work. And we did not always know why. I'd like to figure this out!

That's why I'm wondering how you installed. Mine was a new install of Win 10. I installed PR CC 2019, later PR CS6 (with Encore, but PS CS6 does not install with that), and then later PS CC 2019.

> was able to open the PSD files with Photoshop

To clarify, if PS is the default for psd files, you right click, pick "open with" it should list PS by itself at the top, and somewhere "Keep using this app."

I un-installed and re-installed Photoshop and it works!!

Previously, I could not set Photoshop as Default app for .PSD files. PS would show up in the dropdown menu, but when I selected PS, nothing would happen.

Did you ever get Audrey's idea to work for you?

Haven't had a chance to test yet. BTW, it is cazare's idea: what I tried to say (Google speech to text!) was "but odder things have happened before..."!

Note; did not work for me... FYI, the H.264 Blu-ray file I used was a new export from PR 2019.0.1.

Edit: the problem reported, and that all users who reported on this were experiencing, was that beginning in PR version 12.1.2, if you used the H.264 Blu-ray format to export, from PR or AME, the resulting file imported to EN and showed "do not transcode" (for the m4v), but the build (burn, image, or folder) resulted in the identified error. A few users early in the discussion got errors (or hangs?) upon import, but that did not affect most of us. MPEG2 Blu-ray still works. H.264 Blu-ray exports before 12.1.2 also work okay.

thank you very much for the feedback and sorry for my delay in speaking to me, very much for the suggestion. I will have to take a new approach to the material delivered to my client. Find out the best way to deliver so that my client has access to all types of equipment. Again thank you very much for the feedback.

Thanks very much to Stan — this is now resolved, but not actually solved!

It would seem that there is no easy way to make an NTSC menu from a PAL one, and the only solution is to start again from scratch, opening a new menu in the NTSC project and reconstructing the elements with the PAL version as a visual (but not actual) template.  In this project it was a pain because there are 22 chapters linked from 3 menus, and it took a few hours.

But all is working now, and the items highlight as required — it's a good job that I discovered that they weren't before I burned a bulk order!

I'll not mark this thread as 'Answered' in case someone can come up with an easier solution.

Encore cs6 cannot run in trial mode

Я купил подписку на один месяц - одна программа - Adobe Premiere Pro (а именно Adobe Premiere cs6)

Купил только потому, что мне нужен был софт, который в комплекте Premiere cs6 - это Encore CS6.

1.jpg

Я установил Adobe Premiere cs6, он работает отлично, но мне совсем не нужен. Мне нужен только Encore CS6 и именно этот софт не открывается. При запуске появляется сообщение - "Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in trial mode. Please relaunch the application and provide a valid serial number."

Что мне делать?

Спасибо

Is the cloud desktop installed and are you logged in?

At least one program (other than Encore) may need to be activated. If you open PR and look under help, does it give the option of "Deactivate" (meaning it is activated)? If not, activate it (sign in), then open Encore.

Re: Can I OPEN an ISO file in Encore

I finally managed to create a double layer DVD from IFO, BUP, and VOB files created with DVDFabDecripter and using Nero Burning ROM 2014 by selecting as follows:

  1. DVD-ROM (UDF)
  2. go to the Burn tab and select Write speed (best to use a lower write speed than the disc)
  3. select required Multisession (I selected No Multisession)
  4. select New
  5. In Disc Content third column locate and highlight the VIDEO_TS file to reveal the BUP, IFO, VOB files in the fourth column
  6. select and drag them over to the left into the second column
  7. then click Burn

It took me a while to figure it all out so I included instructions to help others if needed.  But first I had to purchase double layer discs, then whether my DVD burner and burner program supported double layer.  The DVD played successfully.
