I wonder about point #3, though. QT export can be specified lossless, and Keynote has some wonderful transitions I want to keep. (It's really not a bad animation platform.)
What other options instead of QT do you have available?
I associate MPEG2-DVD with old S-video resolution (720 px wide). Does the standard now support 1280 px -wide frames? Is this the HiDef of HDTV? I'd hate to mash my screens down to 720-wide if I don't have to.
PAL dvd is still 720x576 with a PAR of 0.9 for standard and 1.4 for widescreen. Most of the time one needs a dvd-player with upscaler to get a good picture on a hd tv.
Alternative one can use a BluRay player.
If you want 1280x720 on a disk you have to make a BluRay disk.
