Encore (CS6) will not play any sort of video when I try to preview. The odd thing is if I build my project, everything works great - no issues. I just can't preview anything while I'm working on the project.
Slideshows: I've created several different slideshows of varying lengths - even ones with only 4 photos. It doesn't matter if I have transitions, pan & zooms, or audio or if I just say "Preview from Here" or if I Render it first, then preview. I get a "media pending" picture in the preview window for a while. Then, eventually the first photo will show up, but just sits there and won't advance (it is not set to manual advance), won't pan or zoom or anything I have set. All of my photos have been cached and haven't been moved. Even if I just hit play in the Monitor panel, it won't even start to playback - timecode stays at 0:00. However, if I build the disk, slideshows playback fine with all the transitions and pans I set.
Timelines: Same as the slideshow. If I press play in the timeline or in the monitor, the playhead won't even move. Same case if I render the entire project and everything is transcoded properly. If I "Preview from here" the menu works fine. As soon I select a button to play a video clip, I get the media pending graphic again and after a while it will just go to the first frame (which is black) and sit there are do nothing even though time advances. Also, if I build the disk, all video is fine and plays back properly.
It doesn't matter what my project settings are (this happens whether or not it's a Blu-Ray or DVD). Another thing is that if I open the exact same project on my laptop, I don't have any of these issues - so it definitely has something to do with my computer. So here are my computer specs:
iMac late 2012 OSX 10.8.3
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB (I have Nvidia CUDA installed ver. 5.0.61)
