Hello,
I'm in the dark as to what this means. I've been asked to create a concert DVD for commercial sale and the client has requested ISRC embedding. How do I get the code? Is it metadata or an electronic signal? Do I need one for each cut or just one at the beginning? Will Encore handle this and if so how? And other questions . .
Thanks,
Keith
Hi Keith.
ISRC cannot be dealt with by Encore - it's in the authorcore but not in the actual application.
An ISRC code is mainly used when there is a good chance of radio play, otherwise there is not much point.
It's a simple code, and the label should be creating it for you.
It works something like this:
5 letters (in the UK the first 2 will always be GB, followe3d by a 3 letter code to identify the facility) followed by 2 digits for the year (so currently 13) followed by another 5 to identify the recording.
The problem you face is that it will be of no use side tripping through audition as the codes need to be placed by the authoring application because of the massive number of NavPacks they end up in........and unless you have access to Scenarist or DVD-Lab Pro (where the Pro Extensions addon was able to add ISRC codes) then it's not going to happen. I even believe it is not possible in PGCEdit - but will ask & post back.
