Things are not as they seem (your audio is messed up), or something has changed.
One approach is to try to confirm that your audio is okay (which then leads to the possibility that your project has an issue).
Another is the approach you already took, and create a new Encore project, and import as timeline. That should have worked, and it is possible that it did not for some reason unrelated to the audio.
