OK, I had a chance to revisit my project. I opened the existing Video_TS directory and PGCEdit gave me a reasonable choice for where to put my layer break (during some applause). This time, instead of outputing an .iso file, I just let it overwrite the .ifo files in the directory (which it then backed up in the backup folder it creates). However, when I went to burn the Video_TS directory to disc using Imgburn, it asked me to choose a layer break point again, and the point that I had originally chosen in PGCEdit was not one of the options. This was actually OK, though. Up until then, I had been using Nero to burn my discs, and I presume Nero just used the layer break determined in Adobe Encore. Imgburn gave me a lot more choices for layer break points than Encore ever did, and when I checked the layer break spot on the burned disc, there was no pause. So I think I'm good for the future (the project I was working on had already gone to the replicator).
Thanks again for the advice.
To answer Stan's question about the VSO player, it seems to have issues playing menus and just goes stright to the video.
