Have already tried opening directly, no go. No disk in drive. And, the preference idea didn't work in this case. I did notice that Encore freezes up when it is in the middle of loading Quicktime......

Maybe, yes, and no. Maybe it will help, but probably not. Yes, you can close Premiere. But, dynamic link keeps an instance of pproheadless (whatever it's called) running; perhaps one for each sequence....
