Re: Video Downsized in Preview

Try without doing Dynamic Link... export MPEG2-DVD Widescreen from PPro, use the 2 (audio and video) files for Encore authoring

>Encore Project Settings: Codec: MPEG-2 720x480; 29.97 fps (would not allow me to change and allign to my video files settings)

That is correct... your "H.264, 1080x720" is a HiDef file... a DVD is SD (Standard Definition) ONLY... the MPEG2-DVD PPro export should give you "legal" DVD files that do not need to be transcoded in Encore

BluRay from Apple Compressor 4.0.7

I've just completed testing my first Encore for BluRay project, and it works fine in preview and in check project.  When I try to build to either a file or a BluRay disc I get an error that it cannot use a file because it's in a pending state.  It's an h.264 file from Apple Compressor that was encoded as a bluray stream.  I see in the project panel that all three of the files I created using compressor are "untranscoded" in the DVD Transcode Status column.

I don't know what to do next.  Thanks.

"untranscoded" in the DVD Transcode Status column.

For a bluray project, look in the "Bluray Transcode Status" column; further to the right. Are they transcoded or not?

What is the specific error you are getting? Screenshot may be easier.

that was encoded as a bluray stream.

What does that mean? What is the file type? m4v; mov? Sorry; just not sure if you have done something different than prepare a bluray ready file.

What audio are you using?

Troubleshooting a Vobulator Error, Line 332 - Chapter Marker Problem? Is Beginning of Timeline OK?

Hi, I am getting the vobulator error on a Encore CS6 project...

"internal software error: Vobulator\Title Planner|CVOBUPlanner.cpp, line 332"

I have spent a couple hours tonight reading all the forum discussions I can on this trying to troubleshoot my problem.

First question I have is regarding the advice of "no chapter markers on the end of a timeline".

Does the beginning of my timeline qualify as an "end" that I should not have a chapter marker on?

I have one timeline in this project with about 18 chapters in it.

The first chapter is at the beginning of the timeline - seems logical to me to put a Chapter 1 in at the start.

But maybe that is wrong, since the begining of the timeline IS the starting point of the DVD?

But how can you label the start (i.e. I want to lable it "Act 1") if you don't use a chapter marker?

Also I noticed the Chapter 1 Marker got moved in to the 1 second point after transcoding. I set the chapter in premiere pro cs6 at the 0:00:00 point.

Some details on my Encore CS6 Project...

1 Video Timeline in Encore, Dynamically Linked from Premiere Pro CS6

No Menus

No Other graphics

Intent is to Auto play on loading, and stop at end action, with chapters in between for skipping around by user.

I get this error when I try to build a DVD Image. I get no errors when building a Bluray image.

Premiere Pro CS6 Project...

raw video was shot as 1080p24 video from a Canon Vixia HF S21

a few cross disolve transition at beginning and end

a few graphics at beginning (but I have successfully used all of these same graphics in other Encore projects without error).

-Thanks for your help.

Yes, not having a chapter marker at the end only refers to the end that is at the end. Not the end that is at the other end.

While logically the question is a good one, Encore puts a chapter marker at the beginning whether you want one or not. And one way to get this problem is to think  you've faked Encore out by putting the first chapter marker two frames in.

You can label Encore's Chapter 1. I thought you had to wait till you were in Encore, but in CS6 at least, you can name it in Premiere,

If you are seeing a chapter at one second; you may have 2. In a test, Encore does not move the marker when I transcode.

Be sure you are not seeing a poster frame marker.

And it may be a different chapter marker or some other problem that is throwing the error.

I assume there is only one Premiere sequence on your one timeline, correct?

From your description, I would look for an accidental chapter marker too close to another one.

I would start over with a new Encore project.

So my Adobe Encore is freezing and (Not Responding) past starting a new project. Sometimes it will let me create the project, but it will freeze as soon as I click into the Project Window to import my DVD Files (Not even going as far as to let me see the right click options before getting the Rainbow pinwheel of Death!!) Please help as we are in need of getting a DVD out to the LPGA today! Thank you.

Screen Shot 2014-01-14 at 7.44.20 AM.png

Since your post I was able to get the burn to start.  I started with h.264.mov files for video and ac3 files for audio.  All came from FCPX through Compressor.  Initially I could not get the build to start in Encore.  Then after your post I selected the each video asset that was not transcoded and pressed transcode.  I didn't see anything happen but when I went to build, so I could get a screen capture to show the error message, it just kept going.  When I got up this morning the burn was finished but it gave me "disc error" when I played on my BluRay player.

We do not have enough information to know which versions will run under Mavericks under what other conditions. Some users appear to be having serious problems such as yours. Others are having problems they can work around.

If you have a deadline, I'd be looking for my pre-Mavericks computer to get this completed.

Anyone using Mavericks with Encore 5.1 without problems?

Will CS6 Work with Mavericks better than CS5.5 because I have a copy of the CS6 Master Collection I can install here.

That is good news.

Pending may have been just that: Encore can take quite a while to sort out an imported file, and is "pending" until then.

Mac - Encore burns have some history of not playing. I don't recall the specifics, but a frequent workaround is build to an image and burn with an alternate (e.g. Toast).

No indication that it will work better. I took a look back at other threads, and I see Encore 5.1 being run by Mavericks users and with the same sort of problems reported by CS6 users.

We don't know why Mavericks has issues, so hard to guess at.

CS6 did have changes, so it might help (or hurt).

Also, installing (CS6 or reinstalling CS5.5) over the Maveicks install may help (or hurt). But you're dead in the water, so...

Aggravating that Adobe decided not to fight whatever battles they needed to for an ongoing DVD/BD authoring program.

Re: How to extract closed captions from DVD

I've tried CC extractor and it doesn't recognize any CC on the DVD, which lends evidence to the fact that they may be subtitles.  However, it seems like none of the subtitle programs are seeing a subtitle track either!

Option to Download video Files from DVD menu.

Hello all..

I am wondering if it is even possible to put an option to download individual video files within my Encore dvd menu.  Thought is to give the viewer the option to download a clip from the DVD.

Any ideas are helpful.

Thank you.

When are you seeing it on screen? Under what conditions. A remote should be able to turn on/off cc or subtitles.

"Revert" is a smart move! Love partitioned OS options.

This means that Encore will adjust the bitrate to try to fill the disk. It does this based on your other content at the point you transcode.

It should not create any problems such as you have.

You could "revert to original" and let it try again.

Is there any more to the wording of the error?
