Re: The Dreaded Vobulator Error 332

Finally: great success! The software lies with how much 'free space' or 'available space' you have for your DVD burn. You need more space than it says.

After getting this error 332 for 2 days of troubleshooting, I finally got my DVD to burn. Ultimately the problem was with the amount of 'free space' available on the disc. I was pushing it with a feature film and alot of special features included on a dual layer 8.5 GB disc. It claimed that I was NOT at my limit for the disc but I was cutting it close.

I made the following transcode adjustments to my video files:

- Kept the feature film as a prores (HQ) 422 file that I allowed the transcoding to happen upon the burn.

- Exported every special feature as an m2v file in premiere.

This left me with almost 1GB of free disc space after pushing it before with only a few MB to spare.

I'm pretty sure I transcoded everything the right way, but I felt that keeping the feature asset as a prores .mov gave me the best quality looking film and the special features don't look as sharp as the feature. I'd give the feature a 10 rating and my special features an 8 for video quality. But that was a compromise I was willing to make because the feature is the most important video on the disc.

This finally got me to a burn stage, but then I also hit another problem with a dual layer disc. It didn't play properly and froze when I popped it in the DVD player. So I had to set the 'layer break' to manual and chose the chapter break and burn it all over again. This time it worked.

Hope that helps!
