I accidentally posted before finishing my entry. The following is the updated entry:

I have a collection of 8mm movie reels that I have had converted to one DVD. These 8mm movies have no sound. The contents of that original DVD are:
VTS_01_1.VOB 0.99 GB
VTS_01_2.VOB 0.99 GB
VTS_01_3.VOB 0.99 GB
I have run the .VOB files collectively thru ReJig to create one .M2V file, as follows:
vts_01_1_thru_3_rejig.m2v 2.20 GB
I have then imported the vts_01_1_thru_3_rejig.m2v file into Encore v2. I deleted the empty audio track. I then added a Subtitle track and added some subtitles. I then did a Build DVD/DVD Image and created a new DVD containing the original, unedited video, now with some subtitles. My new DVD contained the following:
VTS_01_1.VOB 1,048,544 KB 0.99 GB
VTS_01_2.VOB 1,048,544 KB 0.99 GB
VTS_01_3.VOB 1,048,544 KB 0.99 GB
VTS_01_4.VOB 1,048,544 KB 0.99 GB
VTS_01_5.VOB 149,056 KB 145 MB
My question is, should the size of the new DVD be 1 GB larger that the original? I realize there is going to be some size changes through the process of transcoding conversions, but should it be this much?
Thanks
