Thank Stan the issue is now resolved. Turns out I made a silly mistake by exporting the 'en-US' folder not what was inside! How foolish of me.

Works here, too. Somehow my AME failed to update when everything else did. I have no trouble sending Premiere Pro 7.1 sequences to AME 7.0.1. And the H.264 exports work just fine in Encore. Never...
