I import subtitles from a text file, but if I want to move a group of them around a few frames earlier or later, the subtitles jump ~15 frames and I can't get the subtitles to sit on the exact frame I want.

Also, when I playtback (preview mode) the subtitles they don't come in when they should. I have to move the playhead back a few seconds in order to have them preview the way they should. I wonder when I burn the disc, the subtitles will come in when they should?

Your video files are probably already transcoded, and markers can only go on GOP boundaries. I believe this also applies to subtitles, but I'm not certain. You have to set these before transcoding in order to be able to make them frame accurate.

Try a short sample that is not already transcoded, to see if this works in a test project.

If I drag the subtitle group to the left 20 frames, and then to the right and release, and keep doing that (about 5 times), eventually I can get the subtitle near where I want it, but not frame perfect.

First, I am wrong about the limitation re GOP. Markers yes, subtitles, not limited to GOP.

I did a quick test, and I seem to be able to put them anywhere I want. I selected all the subtitles on the track, zoomed all the way in, so I was seeing each frame tick. I can drag and it snaps to the CTI.

Wenn ich in Adobe Encore bei einem DVD Menu mehrere Buttons erstelle und sie mit Kapiteln verknüpfe, werden sie in dem erstellten Video/Menu nicht angezeigt. In der Vorschau, wo man das Menu testen kann, funktioniert es allerdings ohne Probleme.

What happens is the video gets stalled and hesitates and if I walk away it completes and goes to menu. I have two screen shots one is 3 hrs with two videos compressed at mpg4 and brought in and another mpeg 4 at one hour and 50 minutes. I am thinking Encore CS5 is old and it's time to look for another authoring

program. I don't think Adobe is updates Encore anymore.

The latest is CS6, which is now over 4 years old... and you are correct, no longer updated

You may use CS6 if you have a Cloud subscription and install using the "previous version" process but CS6 with a serial number is no longer sold

While Encore CS 5.1 (equivalent to PR CS 5.5) is old, it should work.

I don't see an issue in the screenshots.

You may have a bad encode. You can try retranscoding in AME.

Are the chapter markers from PR? If so, it will be easy to create the Encore project from scratch.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 is similar to Encore CS6. It was last updated in September 2017. The have a trial version.

What program did you use to burn the image file? I always use ImgBurn(free).

Set the end action of your menu to Stop. Linking it to itself will sometimes cause an unexpected problem.

Unfortunately the black bars, which indicate the selected Button, don't show up.

Can you post a screenshot of the layers of the menu in photoshop with the layers twirled open?

In the Preview works just fine but on the exported DVD it doesn't.
