Re: Chapters play to the end?

Are you sure you don't have an end action on that first chapter (with the link set to itself)?

You should have no overrides set anywhere in the project.

Most of the issues for users and chapters is when they want the chapters to each end by going back to a chapter menu. You have the easy version (the Hollywood way!).

CVOBUPlanner.cpp, line 332 error - What is that?

I've put up screenshots of the error message both from one project on a Mac and a different project on a PC.  Does anyone know what that means?  I am suddenly getting this error on both systems and it is freaking me out.

The "vobulator" is the (licensed, not Adobe) Sonic program module inside Encore that works to convert MPEG video to the VOB format on a DVD... your message indicates a problem with a title

Of course, the interface between the Sonic modules and Encore's error reporting has been a LONG standing complaint, so there is no read indication of WHICH title (or font?) is causing the problem

Adobe/Jive have a BAD title for the SEARCH THIS FORUM function

Go back to http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore and, in the area just under Ask a Question, type in

vobulator

You may now read previous discussions on this subject... be sure to click the See More Results at the bottom of the initial, short list if the initial list does not answer your question

Chapter markers on top of each other or too close to beginning or end?

Multiple videos on one timeline?

If not, are you using dynamic link?

Re: Why is Encore CS6 Menu quality so poor/bad?

Stan,

Update:

The customer increased the size of the logos in the menu. I showed them the result on on a regular TV/DVD player as well as a computer monitor with the player frame reduced to close to native size. We did high quality widescreen progressive scan for the videos and they look pretty good.

Success! until they called back and asked about naming titles and chapters so that they show up in Windows Media Player. Currently the disc reads in WMP as "Untitled 1" (The project disc was named in Encore in the project window but this does not show up in WMP, Indidvidual programs within the DVD read as "Title 1" and so on (12 total videos on the disc.)

Sooooo is there a way to name the titles and chapters in Encore so that they will display in Windows Media Player?

Thanks in advance once again,

John

Glad to hear of the improvement.

This has been discussed before, and I do not recall anyone finding the solution.

But from what I know, I suspect this response from Joe Bowden in 2006 is probably right on target:

http://forums.adobe.com/message/1803433#1803433

As I understand it, this information comes from a database to which Windows Media Player connects when the disc is opened in WMP, which is why you see it so often on commercial DVDs.

It is possible to add this info to your disc in WMP and then upload it, but I don't know if it would work with multiple burned copies of the disc. I'm guessing it possibly would work if you registered a replicated (mastered to DLT, then replicated at a replication facility, not burned) version of the disc.

Normally you don't have to 'do' anything, it just happens that way.

Stan,

The customer will make duplicates from my Encore produced master. What should he ask for at the dupe house to try and show title/chapter info in WMP?

Don't know where to start in WMP as far as uploading database info. Help please.

How to go about registering a disc? Help please.

I did observe that when playing back a CD with .mp4 files the disc title showed up in the upper left hand corner while the mouse was on the display. That is what we would like to see but in DVD mode.

Thanks again, John

Hello,

I have partially solved my problem : the only way was to replace my GTX 570 (VRAM 1280 MB) with a GTX 780 (VRAM 3072 MB). GPU-Z showed that the GPU clock was about 350 MHz with GTX 780 instead of 60 MHz with GTX 570.

He's talking about an online registry like regular commercial disks get.

http://www.usisrc.org/about/obtaining_code.html

And for those to work, the metadata must be uploaded to a site where wmp will know to look for it when it sees the disk isrc.

As he says, this only works for replicated (pressed) disks, which all have the same disk number. Duplicated (burned) disks each have a different number so it will not work for them.

I know very little about this, and do NOT assume that nothing has changed with newer versions of wmp. But it may not have.

Very true. And when we wonder if we should have done or not done something, we have often done "something." And often, it is "something" that we don't realize we did. And then we often ask, "why is this so hard?"!

Create a disk with Encore CS6 from PP CC sequences : bullshit

Hello,

I am sorry to be so rough but since a couple of months I go from problems to problems with Encore CS6 and transcoded sequences from Premiere Pro CC. I never had these problems with PP CS6  and Encore CS 6.

- 1) first : medias pending and red pictures within "animated buttons" of menus

Solved after replacement of my GTX 570 with a GTx 780 (medias pending), never use the first picture of chapter to animate buttons,

- 2) black display at the end of menus (second page) instead of a perfect .mts menu file,

- 3) no dynamic link between PP CC and Encore CS6 which cause a very large lost of time : the PP CC sequences must be transcoded to be imported in Encore CS 6 if the Pp CC users whish to build a Blu-ray disk,

- 2) black display at the end of menus (second page) instead of a perfect .mts menu file,

Is your menu audio longer than the menu video?

I am using Encore CS6 in Adobe CC. the timeline does not have a 'slider' to expand the files

How do I get  to expand the timeline to see edits better in the timeline like CS4 has?

3 - since PProCC will not do Dynamic Link to EncoreCS6, you must export assets from PProCC and import into EncoreCS6

The bottom of reply page #5 in The PPro/Encore tutorial list http://forums.adobe.com/message/2276578 has more information, including a tutorial video

Rexomus -

SUPER SUPER HELPFUL! Thank you!!!!!

Ryan,

An Adobe tech helped me resolve this issue. Please follow these steps:

The tech had me open Pre Pro CC and go to "help" and click "sign-out". When you do that a pop-up appears saying that: signing out will deactivate the following software on this computer unless you sign in again; following with the icon for each Adobe CC app i have installed.

Next the tech had me open Pre Pro CS6, which upon opening askes you to sign in which I did. Once Pre Pro CS6 was open, The tech had me check under "help" to see if the the option "deactivate" was available or greyed out. For me, It was greyed out.

Next the tech had me close Pre Pro CS6 and open it again and check "help" to see if deactivate was still greyed out; and it was still greyed out.

Next the tech had me close Pre Pro CS6 and open Pre Pro CC which prompts you to sign in. After Pre Pro CC launched the tech had me close it and open Pre Pro CS6 again too check under the "help" tab again and confirm if "deactivate" was still greyed out or black (executable). This time "deactivate" was black.

Next the tech had me launch Encore CS6 tto see if it still required a serial number. This time Ecore opened as it should, without requiring a serial number.

Hopefully this stick, or Adobe includes a perminant solution in the next update.

I Hope this helps others with this same issue.
