There are 2 issues. Encore does not have a great burning engine. Many users never burn from Encore. They build to a folder or image, and burn with ImgBurn for PC or Toast for Mac.

Second, if you cannot build to an image or folder, post a screenshot of your flowchart and provide more info.

Ah. I suspect the silence.a3c file has nothing to do with it. It is just the last thing on the screen when you crash. As you note, it is created by Encore and appears in every project I just looked at.

What export settings are you using? Post a screenshot?

Export a short section of your Premiere sequence (one minute or so). Create a simple version of your project using that. Does it work?

access denied [when creating a Web DVD]

Guten Tag

I tested it on two different blu ray players and i gave the blu ray to my clients and it does not work for them. I just bought a new computer last week and it has the latest blu ray player and it says that the file could not be read. I then downloaded a free trial of powerdvd and it starts up fine. I'm guessing that I may have tweaked a setting that I don't know and it's been like that ever sense. It was working fine a few months ago.

Thanks Stan here is what I have done.

These are all Home movies shot at 1440 x 1080. After editing I Exported the entire sequence of all videos selecting the check box "Match Sequence Settings."  This changed the output file from a .AVI file to a  .mpeg  file.  Example shown here of the second Birthday sequence  "2-yr B-Day Sequence 02.mpeg"  I did this wih all 5 Sequences and imported them to Encore.

After importing the Main menu and connecting all the chapter markers, overrides, motion backgrounds etc. to the 5 sub menus,  I transcode everything render all motion menus. Then I try to build a Blu-ray Image file (50GB).  That's when Encore crashes when it get to the "Silence.ac3" file.  This happens every time I try to combine all 5 videos under one Main Menu for a 50GB dual layer Blu-ray Image File.

I have successfully built an image file using only 4 or less than 4 Sequences and corresponding sub menus keeping the size of the build under 25 GB.  This is why I don't think there is anything wrong with using exported .mpeg sequences.  The only thing I haven't tried is to export all the sequences as .AVI files and see if that works, however the .mpeg sequences all transcode correctly that's why I don't think the problem is with the sequences.

I also have changed all the transcoding presets to match the 1440 x 1080, any .mov files were "changed" in Premiere Pro and outputted as .mpeg file sequence.  Encore sees all .mpeg sequences to work with.

Here is the list of everything in Encore, I have transcoded everything before I click build.  I hate breaking out these events since it would be much nicer to combine them all on 1 blu-ray disk.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Each time it crashes and I re-start encore it doesn't pick up the Blu-ray transcoding I have to Click on locate transcoded file from the file tab to start over again.

Make sure you have permissions to save the file at the location you indicate.

I have not studied your entire file.

The "format" for your export is "MPEG Preview," a byproduct of "match." Use the MPEG2 Bluray with no match settings. This will produce m2v and wav files.

This may not fix your issue, but it is the preferred method. I would create a short export (or a whole sequence worth), and try that in a new project.

If that works, I would do a "save as" of your Encore project, and try "replace" assets to see if you can salvage your work. However, I am not sure you can replace .mpg with .m2v/.wav.

You can try using the multiplex to create mpg with the MPEG2 Bluray format.

Why are the text subpicture highlights not showing up correctly?

Several letters of the text highlight show up just fine, but a few letters get cut off and don't show up highlighted at all. I have attached screen shots to show what I mean. The highlights look fine while authoring in Encore, but the preview panel and DVD show differently. Any idea why this might be happening?

In some cases, placing the buttons close to the edge results in such problems. This is most often an issue with thin lines, and I do not know if this is your problem or not.

Also, using non-standard sizes or pars (for the menu psd itself) can create problems. Check your menu size and par in photoshop.

Edit: I found my note on this. My speculation was that Encore measures the highlight position from the edge of the frame, and that non-standard pixel sizes and/or parts results in Encore placing the highlight incorrectly. And, the bounding box of the whole button masks (i.e. cuts off) part of the highlight. As in my previous experiments, the part of the highlight that is missing is away from the edge of the frame, which seemed odd, but perhaps not.
