I think I'm right in saying that each timeline will be recorded to disc, this will use up disc space in duplicating the videos but with the length of your material you should be ok.

Exactly so.Please remember - and this is important - that 25p PAL never was a part of the specs. It is not just Encore, it is the BluRay specifications.1920x1080/25p is also not allowed.
